How do I get my Chapelwick VIP pin?

If you contributed $1 before the Kickstarter, and you’ve backed a physical reward, you’re all set!

After the campaign ends, our fulfillment partner will send out a survey. In that survey, you’ll be able to provide the same email address you used to join the VIP list. Make sure you’ve received your VIP welcome email at that address.

Once you confirm your email, you’ll see an option to opt in for your exclusive Chapelwick VIP pin. We’ll double-check your info against our VIP database, and if the emails match, we’ll automatically include your pin with your order.

My VIP & Kickstarter emails are different. Is that an issue?

Short answer, yes. Long answer, ensure they match BEFORE backing us on Kickstarter. You’ll want your Kickstarter account to be the same email address that you provided when you became a VIP, otherwise, we might not be able to cross-reference and provide the VIP pin.

Does Let’s Roll Press use AI-generated music, art, text, etc.?

No, no, no, absolutely not! We’re supporting real human beings and their creative work every step of the way. Everything you see and hear in Chapelwick: the story, mechanics, art, music, all of it, was made by humans, for humans.

I’m backing a tier that gets my name in the credits. How does that work?

During the fulfillment survey, you’ll be able to enter your name exactly as you’d like it to appear in the book. We’ll review all submissions to ensure everything remains appropriate before finalizing the credits for publication.

Some influencers and close friends say you can’t do horror in 5E. Is that true?

Most people play 5E as a heroic fantasy complete with fast healing, plentiful resources, and an expectation that every encounter will be won, but you don’t have to play it that way. When designing Chapelwick, we didn’t throw out 5E’s framework. We reshaped those assumptions to serve dread instead of comfort.

The City Fights Back: Chapelwick itself is alive, shifting, and hostile. The familiar rhythm of exploration, battle, long rest simply doesn’t apply when the world itself is hostile towards you. There is nowhere safe to truly rest so you’re always on edge and never truly ready for the next fight.

Sanity Has Weight: Our Mindrift Madness Deck turns knowledge into sacrifice. Every revelation carries a mechanical and narrative consequence. You can’t simply succeed an investigation. You can only hope survive it.

Loss Matters: Resurrection isn’t a spell, it’s a curse. Each return from death chips away at your humanity. Every glimpse beyond the veil leaves its mark on your soul.

Horror is in the Math: We built mechanics that let tension escalate instead of resetting after every fight. You feel the cost of progress, even as your character grows stronger.

So yes, you can’t run horror in 5E unless you’re willing to change your assumptions about it. That’s what Chapelwick does. It keeps everything players love about 5E’s familiarity and freedom but retools it to make the darkness feel real and not just described.

5E isn’t an obstacle. It’s a canvas and Chapelwick helps DMs paint with darker colors.

Which gaming license are you using?

Chapelwick adheres to the items set forth in the Open Gaming License version 1.0a. This is provided by Wizards of the Coast for publishers like us to use. You can find the document here: https://media.wizards.com/2016/downloads/DND/SRD-OGL_V5.1.pdf

Will Chapelwick be ported to One D&D?

Absolutely! We’re launching with 5E because that’s where most players are right now, but future editions will be fully updated for One D&D. Plus, anyone who backs the Kickstarter and receives a digital or physical 5E copy will also get a free digital copy of the One D&D version once it’s released.

How many people can play Chapelwick?

Chapelwick is designed to play smoothly with 3–7 players, plus the DM. The encounters and mechanics scale naturally within that range, and if you’re running with a smaller or larger group, the tools we’ve included make balancing adjustments easy.

Who is your pledge manager?

BackerKit! A few weeks after the campaign concludes, you’ll receive an email with a survey requesting vital information, allowing you to receive your products as soon as they are manufactured. During this time, you can add any additional items you’d like.

Last updated: October 10, 2025 22:39

When will I be charged?

Kickstarter will automatically charge your selected payment method after the campaign ends on November 13th. If you’ve backed a physical reward, you’ll also be responsible for shipping and any applicable taxes during the fulfillment process with BackerKit. The exact amount depends on your location and reward tier.

Last updated: October 13, 2025 20:16

Can I upgrade or change my pledge tier after the campaign ends?

Yes! When BackerKit sends out the post-campaign survey, you’ll have the option to upgrade your pledge tier then. Every backer will be able to adjust or upgrade before fulfillment. There’s a wide variety to choose from, so take your time deciding which Chapelwick tier you’d like to enjoy!

How do I get add-ons?

You can view all available add-ons by clicking the Add-ons tab at the top of the campaign page. After selecting your pledge tier at checkout, you’ll have the option to add extra items. Just click “Add” next to each one you’d like, and they’ll be included in your total at the end of checkout.

You’ll also get another chance to add items later when Kickstarter sends out the post-campaign survey, so don’t worry if you miss something during checkout!

How do stretch goals work?

As funding milestones are reached, stretch goals will unlock; each one is described in detail on the campaign page. Some stretch goals unlock new available add-ons that can be purchased to add to any level of backing. Other stretch goals are added to backer tiers, whether to a specific tier when unlocked, or unlocked for all tiers. Rewards added to backer tiers won’t increase the price of the tier. They’re our way of saying a huge thank-you to everyone supporting Chapelwick and helping us bring even bigger dreams to life!

What happens when the Kickstarter concludes?

Once the Kickstarter ends, you’ll receive a receipt for your pledge. Please verify that your payment has been processed successfully, as we can only deliver rewards for pledges that are processed successfully.

After your pledge is confirmed, you can relax knowing your Chapelwick rewards are in production. When the campaign wraps up, we’ll send a BackerKit survey where you can add extra items if you’d like, provide your shipping details, and pay for shipping. The shipping cost will be calculated automatically based on your location.

Important: Physical rewards will only be delivered to backers who successfully pledged to a physical reward tier and paid for shipping through their BackerKit survey.

Shipping is showing as $0 - what's up with that?

We are collecting shipping after the Kickstarter closer to fulfillment. This helps us navigate a treacherous world economy and get the best rates on shipping. Check the shipping chart on the story page for an estimated shipping cost for your region.

How do I get my Early Bird Dice Set?

We are rewarding individuals that back within the first 72 hours with a free Subclass Dice Set. There is no specific Early Bird tier. To claim the Early Bird, simply get any physical tier in the first 3 days (72 hours) of the Chapelwick Kickstarter campaign. Ιf you pledge for a digital tier but want to get the Early Bird, you can choose a physical add-on and then you will qualify for the Early Bird dice.

Please note that you will need to pay shipping costs for your add-on and Early Bird, since it increases the weight and/or volume of your order. During the pledge manager process, there will be an option to opt out of your Early Bird, if you’d rather not pay the additional shipping costs.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
